1990 16v n/a, 190k mi:
The last major repair I did was the clutch & all its hydraulics (about a month ago). Ever since, the ABS & BF lights now take quite a while to go out. Before the repair, they used to take anywhere from 10 to 20 seconds. Now it's more like 40 to 60 seconds (maybe longer) & I have no brake boost during that time. I've tested the new GM accumulator I installed this past summer. (Replaced due to hot weather related ABS/BF lights.) After the lights go out it still gives me plenty of pumps (15?) before the ABS light comes back on.
I don't know if the clutch hydraulic work I just did & this new problem are related or not. Archive posts (by Ari) seem to say that this amount of wait time is normal, but the sudden change in duration has me worried. Also, how loud should the booster pump be? Should it be really obvious when it's running? I'm having a hard time telling it apart from all the other noises my car makes.
Thanks,
Greg
