This is about finding the ABS ECU on a '91 900tc because we want to read the ABS codes to see why the light is on. Raise the lid (roof) and jerk the front of the rear seat on one side. Pull it out. The carpet "flows" over the two thingies that hold the rear seat down. Pull the carpet away and down to the floor. The ECU is now exposed near your left foot, if you are standing in the car facing the rear. There is a two pin connector, on my car, blue and black wires. This is the diagnostic connector that allows you to read the dash ABS light, that will tell you the fault. Follow the instructions on the Saabmaster sight. (Townsend) Make sure you follow them through. In my case, I parked the car, came back to find the ABS light going. It showed 3 faults: 1114, 1243, and 1311. Not making a lick of sense that an ABS valve and two wheel sensors would go bad at the same time, I was pleased to learn that after reading all the fault codes, according to the Townsend rules, the ECU would be cleared, and good luck.
Result: No more codes, no more light, and I did a four wheel drift, jabbed the brakes, and the ABS worked. According to what I've read, the ABS system is suspect to moisture, resulting in false codes. If I'd taken the car to a dealer, I'm sure I'd have been raped, pillaged and piked. Good luck. And Thanks to those who responded to my questions. Your answers were on the mark. I just had to look a little harder.
