This is what you can do:
1) spray all rubber several times over several days with clear lubricating silicon spray. This frequently fixes the problem.
2) Make sure leak is not coming in from poor or rusted window lip.
3) silicone band aids are tricky. Unless you feather the edge carefully, you actually create a chanel that leaks at the area where the band aid ends and the rubber begins. The way to prevent this is apply the silicone, then cover it with 2-3 inch wide smooth waxpaper. Then close the hatch. The silicone should not create a channel this way, but it will wear out and need to be repaired frequently.
