Part of the heat problem with the heat that C900's have is the location of the air intake. Air has to make a byzantine route through the undercarriage and engine bay to get to the air box. This is why even in cold weather, if your car sits in heavy traffic long enough, sucking in all that hot exhaust from other cars, the temp. gauge will start to creep up and the radiator will kick in. If you are in a place with few traffic jams, the heat should not be a problem. Keep your car properly tuned and be especially vigilant for corrosion of your radiatior, etc.since you are in a salt-air environment. One partial solution is to ditch the barrel shaped air filter box and mount a K&M style ram-air cone filter directly to the air mass meter. This will allow a more direct path for air to your intake and will give you a ~5 HP boost too, depending on the filter you choose. Saab also makes a warm climate thermostat that is set to trip a few degrees cooler (celsius) than a standard thermostat. I envy you, I did spend some time in Hawaii when I was in the Navy, but I did not own my Saab yet. The beauty of a turbocharger is that it stays strong at high altitudes. I would have loved to cruise the Big Island in my 900 Conv.!
