You may just have a bad inner cv boot and it's sling the grease all over the companion shaft. I have never seen the cup separate.The drivers side will require removing the speedometer cable connection at the driver, but that's pretty simple. You best bet is to get a bentley manual and to check out the twinsaabs website for the axle replacement procedure or townsends site is very good as well. Good luck.
