My ABS pump time - Ari? Anders? Anyone?

On cold starts, it's now taking my '90's ABS pump about a full minute before it turns on. This all started a few days after doing a complete clutch hydraulics replacement, but I don't know if the job had anything to do with this problem. I can hear the pump start buzzing & hear the RPMs drop. The lights (finally!) go out after the pump has run for 15-30 seconds, then another 15-30 seconds later the pump stops buzzing & I can hear the RPMs come back up.
It seems to take longer the colder it is, but the pump-start problem is there even in 70 degree weather. I haven't yet had the chance to bleed/flush the brakes since doing the clutch hydraulics repair work, but I hope to get to it this weekend (so many maintenance items, so little time...). I guess it's the length of time it takes for the pump to get going that has me worried. Does this time-delay symptom point to a typical problem in the pump?
