It's possible the tension is too loose, which would cause the belt to slip around the pulley untill it heats up enough to cause the squeel noise. Also, you may have an issue with oil on the belt and pulley surfaces. The oil can come from either the compressor itself along the back seal, or an oil leak somewhere on the engine which blows back and settles near the rearward part of the engine when you drive, eventually finding it's way onto that pulley belt, then up around the compressor pulley. It's also possible that the clutch disc itself is contaminated with oil and is slipping. When that happens you get a nasty noise like you described. That's happened to me, so I know that for sure. I've also cleaned a few of those clutch surfaces, so I know how gunked up they can get. I've heard others tell about spraying the heck out of that clutch area with a solvent spray, then sliding a shop towel between the two surfaces to mop up the mess. I can't say how that works since the method I use is clutch disc removal, which requires removing the compressor from the car, plus the use of a special tool.
