finally got the O2 removed Posted by mike in KC [Email] (#1679) [Profile/Gallery] (more from mike in KC) on Fri, 21 Apr 2006 14:00:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Earlier I posted on trouble removing the O2 sensor. Finally the O2 on my 88' 900s is solved. I had to drop the header pipe from the mainfold, cut the exhaust pipe after the Cat(since now welded all together). With the header pipe now out and in my vise, I then heated the sensor area with MAP gas and using 12" 1/2 drive breaker, 1/2 drive 7/8" socket and a 4ft cheater pipe I was finally able to remove that sensor. What a PITA, but now it's done and installed new sensor with anti-seeze so hopefully next time it will be easier. Never could have done this under the car on my back due to lack of room to use that pipe. Learning though, what can be done with a little determination and time. Thanks for all the previous advice. This site is great!
