It could be that either the hall effect sensor in the distributor has died or the ignition module has died. Running for such a short time, is usually a symptom of either of those being bad and, if it happened suddenly, it's probably the ignition module (this is not the large black box behind the left headlight.)
If it's a 16-valve (the designations are different from country-to-country and most of are only familiar with US-spec models), the fuel injection computer will only let the fuel pump run if it receives a signal from the ignition module telling it that the engine is turning over.
This doesn't rule out the possibility that the fuel pump is bad, but the hall effect sensor and the ignition module are the usual suspects.
Just out of curiosity, how much fuel is in the tank?
