I have a sticky shift into 2nd that will grind if you rush it until the car is warmed up. It's worse on a cold day. When I bought this car it had a clutch master problem that was getting worse, so I attributed it to that. The clutch master was replaced about a month ago, but the problem remained (though shifting in general improved and I stopped occasionally losing my clutch.) I swapped out the gearbox oil about three weeks ago; it was black and *horrible* smelling. I've put in Saab Synthetic and it feels better overall, but I still have to be careful and/or double clutch on the first few shifts of the day.
Is this just a worn sychro? The thing is, the trasmission feels GREAT after 5 minutes of driving. I don't want to have to do anything to the transmission any time soon. Why would this problem only show up before it's warm? Thanks in advance for any help,
-Emery
