Hi Woody, There were different brake pads for vented & non-vented brake rotors. The vented rotors used D-378, and the non-vented used D-226. The D226's were for non vented and were thicker. Possibly you were sold the thicker pads. As long as the brakes release properly and don't drag this may not be a problem. You could also drill a new hole in your "U" pin for the clip. Good luck.
