Mine had 99. printed on the top of it.
It's in the fuse panel. Open driver's door, under the dash, rip off the plastic panel and there is lots of access.
Then remove the lower dash fascia of the 900. There are 2 relays. 1 for turn signal 1 for wiper delay. You want the one on the right, with " (HELLA) Wisch-Wasch Interv. Sterung" printed on the top. Pull that out. Look at it's pin arrangement and stick the VW relay in it's place.
Then to operate variable delay -
When you need a wipe, pull down the wiper stalk to the delay position, then move it back off. When you need another, pull it to the interval position - now it remembers the delay and will wipe at that delay. If you speed up, simply turn it off and when another wipe is needed put it back and it will remember the new delay. A great feature.
