Do both run when you turn on the A/C? If not then the left one is probably dead. You can test it by attaching it to the battery via some homemade leads.

To answer your question about the engine temp control....yes, both fans should run on this car when engine temp goes up.

If your fan is dead....call Jim at Sobstory. He can probably get you a tested used one. New ones are around $350.

Replacement is pretty straightforward. Will need to remove the turbo ducting to ease access. Remove ONLY the two top screws on the shroud. There is one on the bottom but it is only a locator screw. You should be able to get it out without even loosening this one. Believe me...you do not want to take it out....never get it back in with the fan shroud in place.

Unplug the lead, unbolt fan unit from shroud and replace with new fan and reverse removal process. Done.
