Had this basic problem on my '85T two weeks ago. To check the circuit for the fan, bypass the coolant sensor on the top driver's side of the radiator. If/when the fan does come on, CHECK FOR DIRECTION OF AIRFLOW! The main fan is right by the turbo, and if it is wired backwards (it does happen) will blow hot air off the turbo into the radiator. You can also bridge the terminals for the relay if bridging the sensor doesn't do it. Check your Bentley's manual.
