My sunroof has been getting slower and noisier since I bought the car in January. When I bought it I surmised that one or two teeth in the drive mechanism (at the sunroof above the back seat somewhere) were broken, because the roof would clunk and pause when opening/closing. I've been using the room more with good weather, and the clunking has gotten more frequent, with the sunroof moving slower.

Tonight the rooof stopped moving altogether. I was able to push the switch with my right hand and pull on the roof to close it with my left hand.

Is the gear mechanism at the roof easy or difficult to get at? Does the headliner need to be pulled to fix?
