As Ken points out, liquid and gunk dumped in keyhole don't reach the switch, even floods of them. Dirt ditto. And what you are describing sounds like touchy worn contacts inside the switch. Possibly fixable by disassembly and cleaning but not worth it unless you live far from other Saabs and parts.
Not to say your key cylinder might not have gunk and dirt in it, and could benefit from cleaning.
Switch sits forward and above the lock cylinder, inverted so shaft comes out bottom. Contacts are way up inside it, just below the phenolic board you see where the wire attaching lugs are. Dirt etc. doesn't get in there, but arcing does happen, springs wear out, and grease turns to waxy glue. Buying a new switch is likely the best answer.
