I guess the "official" terms are main cooling fan and auxiliary cooling fan, and the main is on the driver's side. It is activated by both the A/C switch and the thermoswitch in the radiator housing.
The auxiliary fan cycles with the A/C compressor. I guess that's why I was calling it the A/C fan since its only (stock) function is related to the A/C, whereas the other is both A/C and engine temperature. I say "stock" because if you follow Townsend's advice they'll both work in tandem.
