It's a sohc turbo probably without an intercooler but an intercooler can be added relatively inexpensively. A new fender is about $600 installed, (cost me $1200 for two a couple years ago...done by collision shop during a rear end fix, the guy now hates Saabs...but the job looks like OEM).

The two front leather seats probably set you back $500-600 for leather covers, non-saab. OEMs are perhaps $600 each if you can still get them. Fixing the seat heaters is another issue...

Tire shouldn't be a consideration for $800...get some Kumho Ecsta or just Conti Contacts for all season use. I never worried about tires or brakes on a used car figuring I'd replace them anyway. What is important is the corrosion in the brake system...since the brakes have been recently done I'd assume the system is working well but you probably need to bleed the system annually anyway and don't forget to lubricate the front caliper yokes every 5K miles...or else they'll wear and clunk...mine didn't clunk after 188K miles with the proper lube interval.

The door can also be fixed/replaced with a new used one..figure $500 for pro job there. check the floor pans under the driver and passenger and trunk/wheel well on the driver's side for hidden rust. Floor pan rust and the rear wheelwell rust eating into the spare tire well cost a lot of either your money or your time to repair. Another bad spot is the lower A-arm mountings on the frame...especially under the turbo on the passenger side.

Radio...pshaw. Put in whatever new head unit you like with an MP3 and/or iPod input. 84's were junk when new and didn't last very long, neither did the speakers. Make sure you put in a sub...the big cavern needs it. And ditch the 4X10 rears for 6X9's even if you have to use an adaptor to tilt the 6X9's to shoot upwards.

check the engine for engine mounts (mine had hydraulics..figure replacement every 100K...if yours are OEM they're gone) and seal leaks at the crankshaft...another $500-700 to fix the front seal/reseal the oil pump. Clutches are relatively inexpensive but expensive to install unless you do it yourself and there is a special slave cylinder/spring holder you can fabricate. Check the CV joint boots..if they're torn or cracked you can figure about $300 apiece to replace them. Or kludge with a two piece cover and repack if the car drives/turns with wheels at full lock and doesn't click.

does this 84 have front and rear swaybars? If not, you should definitely consider installing them. Mine came only with a front swaybar and it handled ok, but with swaybars front and rear (both new, the new front considerably bigger than stock) it handled very well for front wheel drive.

Last comment is the paint...does it shine up well? These cars came with good and relatively thick paint that could be polished and waxed and kept for years unless it was abused or parked on the street in Hoboken next to the refineries where acid rain just ate the paint alive. A repaint can cost from poor at $500 to sky's the limit.
