There is a seal (9119856), but unless you have a specific reason to remove the block plug, I'm not sure I'd bother. I generally drain the system at the radiator, refill the system completely with distilled water, run the engine, drain at the radiator, and refill with whatever. That's a pretty good flush, and what's left is mostly distilled (harmless) water...
I was having a discussion with a friend a while back, and he commented that using Prestone anti-freeze, he's always had corrosion issues within a short period of time. I mentioned I'd never had the problem, and stuck pretty much exclusively with Prestone regular ol' green stuff, or on certain cars the Dex-Cool stuff. One thing that I always do is use distilled water - that may be why I don't see the deposits he does. It didn't occur to me at the time, but did weeks later when doing a headgasket, making a trip to the store for a gallon o' Arrowhead Distilled...
