Hey Bob,
I assume you're talking about a 'high-flow' cat, which actually is an improvement when upgrading the exhaust. The biggest name for a performance cat is Magnaflow, which Jak uses on his exhausts (and I also have on mine). Not sure of the exact flow rates, or hp gains, but the way I see it, if you're upgrading to a 3", why stick a really restrictive cat in there when you can put in a 'high flow' cat for $20 more?
