seems the vibration was not coming from the heat shield, so in my fury of still having the rattle noice i hit the saab net. posts and read everything i could find on a rattle that could come from just infront of the passenger side firewall,
well i came acrossed a post written by Loo Y back in feb. of 2002 talking about guide pins which sit inside the brake pad carrier that can rattle, now at the time i read this i had not thought anything of it, i just went on to the next post,..
which brings me to present time, i just redone my inner cv, on the passenger side, and what came to my mind when i took the caliper off the hub, thats right Loo Y`s words on the guide pin, so i thought what the heck its only a moment to pull them and drownd them in cv joint grease and reinstall, after the cars on the road again wouldnt you know it,.. rattle gone.
if you want to read the post i read search "guide pin boot is not torn"
just amazing something so little can make all that racket
