shock installation tool tip

I was having a hard time installing new shocks (Boge Turbo) on my 1988 900S. (removing the old ones is a breeze if you just snap them off)
The bottom bracket is no problem at all; the hard part was tightening the nut down on the top shaft of the shock On the passenger side I was able to keep the shaft from turning with a 6mm box-end wrench while I tightened down the nut with a 17mm wrench. It was tedious, but it worked. On the driver's side there was no room to do this. I even tried using a crow's foot on the nut, but the socket extension kept running into the other wrench.
I ended up using a grinder to cut a 6mm slot into the end of an old broken socket extension bar. I held the nut in place with a wrench and tightened down by turning the shock counter-clockwise on the shaft. It worked great!
