First-Can you be more clear on how/when the lights come on? Or should I say those are two good questions to ask the seller.
ABS has four wheel sensors-one at each hub. They are a magnetic based system to where there is a toothed ring that detects lock up at each wheel. Thus, these sensors are prone to get cruded up by brake dust, mud, ect. This can trigger an abs light. Also, the accumilator that holds a massive amount of pressure to be used when the abs is triggered is also prone to fail due to a rubber menbrane.
Second-there are four sensors for the srs system-two in the front bumper and two in the back. Any sight tap over five miles can trigger the srs system light. (ask me how I know) Good news is that the hit may have not been hard enought to trigger the air bags.
My advice to you? Have the codes pulled by a trained SAAB mechanic and he or she will be able to give you the real reason for the lights.
I whould only base my decision on buying after I had this done. Plus, you can get a real good thumbs up or thumbs down from a mech.
Hope this helps and good luck
