in looking to find the problem Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Probably not, RS ![]() ![]() |
looked at the seat of the spring for rust or broken somewhere, looks fine, looked to see if the spring was seated right (it rubs the spring right at the bottom of the coil, right when the spring makes the lift off the seat, looking at the spring from top down from wheel side in, with the spring seated correctly in the lower seat it rubs at the 5 o-clock position (12 o-clock would be pointing in the direction of the motor) top of spring seat looks fine but i need to recheck, the spring looks straight on all sides from seat to top, things that were done to the passenger-side
recently, upper/lower ball joints, outter tie rod end, inner driver, carrier baering, new rebuilt axle, however i dont see how any of this can
make this prob,
i grabed a little wooden ruler and found the outter tie rod end for the drivers side is at 3" when checked passenger side it was at 5 and a half"
measuring from the lower control arm outter bolts to front and back of the rotor, when drivers side is even from front bolt to front rotot/back bolt to back rotor, it measures even, on passenger side with the same measuring the front of the rotor was in some 2 & half inches in,
now about the tire..
the passenger tire was the rear tire for 80,000 miles i just put it to front 10,000 and when fliping tires i saw that the tire had splits or separations in it,
things i done to try to correct the problem, did the same measurements to the passenger-side rotor that i got from the drivers side, and ordered new tires, i`m not going to have the car on the road untill the tires arrive to test the problem,
im thinking perhaps its a mix between bad tire and a 2 inch toe in,
if anyone has more idea`s of what to look for i`ll be more than happy to hear it,
i`ll make sure the top of the spring is seated right,
thanks
