I have a 1990 Saab 900 S Turbo Convertible in very nice shape. My mom bought this car brand new and took good care of it. It only has 79,000 miles on it. The A/C has quit working. I thought it was the compressor, but I followed the testing procedures I found on here and jumped the wires at the low pressure switch on the receiver/drier. The compressor kicks on as it should when jumped. I have a little bit of experience with recharging, but am stumped on this one. I bought a 134a conversion kit from Wal-Mart. I do not exactly understand how to empty the old oil and add new oil. Where do you add the oil? Where do you take the old oil from. I cannot get the compressor to take any freon. Is this because the old oil has not been emptied? Can I not just recharge the old system with 134a freon? Any help here would be much appreciated. Thanks....Marv in Oklahoma
