I think that I am the victim of old car wiring, but maybe not.

My 87t boosts with apc assist sometimes... the rest of the time it is limited to 5.5 psi via the wastegate. This is aggravating. I've tested the knock-sensor, the solenoid on top of the radiator, the sending unit under the dash (it's resistences are normal according to Bentley). The cruise-control vacuum switched is permanently wired continuous, and the fuel cut-off switch is bypassed. The APC unit works great in another car, as did a second unit, and it is firmly connected to the harness. What's next to check?

Also, the sending unit under the dash is wired with one red/orange and one black wire, correct? And, the vacuum line to it "t"s off the line to the boost guage, yes?

Any hints would be helpful.
