The only way it would be worth $14K is if it were a low milage (under 50K) vehicle in near perfect condition. A "restored" car would be worth much less. I just purchased a '94 CommEd Convertible with 60K miles for under $10K. Yes if you love the classic 900 body style they are worth purchasing. Buy it to drive, not for the resale value. The CommEds have a unique distributor, a 2.8bar fuel pressure regulator, and a red-box APC. These minor upgrades upped the HP to 185. You can easily get up in the 230hp range with minor, inexpensive modifications from this baseline. 3.0bar regulator, Ford Motorsports red-top injectors, tweaked APC solenoid for example. Other than that, performance-wise there is no difference. They do not have SPG spec springs. At least there is no mention of it in the literature I have. I prefer the convertibles because they also had exclusive interior (tan leather with blackpiping) and were the only cars ever painted Nova Black (a black metallic that has subtle hue changes depending how you look at it). And of course there is nothing like a fast open-air Saab.
