tranny swap 91 900

I am looking at having to rebuild my tranny in my 91 900 (5-speed non-turbo) but am looking at other options. I found a potential "donor" parts car with 99,000 miles in real rough cosmetic (body and interior) shape that I may try to get for around $900. As far as I can tell the tranny in it is in real good shape (no grinding, clunking, popping out of gear etc) and I didnt hear any bearing noise but had a hard time getting it up to speed on the local roads. Im wondering if it is cost effective to pay somebody to swap the tranny out of this hunk-a-junk. Mine (163000) has a nice strong engine and a new clutch so I just want this other one for parts. The CV's, inner drivers seem good in the hunk-a-junk and I need those as well... and the rear calipers. It seems like a good thing.. but what cost is involved in swaping them out and is that something I could do myself with a buddy or two? Thanks for your suggestions and help! I called a my usual service garage and a tranny guy and they werent much help! Going to post some links to cool 900 saab videos soon! Fun to watch! Best wishes all!
