get a very bright flashlight, do this part at night or a very dark space. open the hood, stand on the passengers side, point light between the firewall and the front of the engine (it's the part closest to the windshield, the *back* of the engine is really towards the *front* of the car..) where the belts are. there should be two belts in parallel, they go from the crank to the alternator to the waterpump and back to the crank. the waterpump will be closest to you. If you have been adding the green stuff to your radiator... look to see if you have any puddles of green on any areas on the *front* of the engine, near the belts in/on any of the nooks or crannies. if you do, the water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced.

If you can't find any green this way, put some clean cardboard under the engine, a couple of pieces if need be to cover most of the area under the car from tire to tire and bumper to front windshield, and start the car. let it idle with the hood open. stand around, eat a burger, clean the windows, do something to amuse yourself... but check under the hood about every 5 minutes or so looking for any mist or spray. especially look at the hoses both high and low, and shine a light under the alternator looking there too. also pay attention to the two hoses that go into the firewall near the alternator. these are the hot water in and out of the interior heater core.

do this for about 30 minutes. if you don't see any leaks this way. shut down and *keep* checking as above. sometimes it will leak after the fans go off. STAY AWAY FROM THE FANS. THEY CAN TURN ON AT ANY TIME!!!!!

let us know how it goes.
