The springs should have a colored paint mark on them. If they are the same color, they are the same springs. Light green is the likely color of the Turbo springs...
If you preferred the 89, it may be that the shocks on your 92 are dying, or you had a different kind of shock. How many miles on the 92 shocks? Old shocks can degrade ride quality, making for a jarring ride.
It's unlikely that the spring rates between the two cars are vastly different. In fact, they're likely identical: according to my parts catalog, nearly all trim and option combinations used the same light green front springs from 90 to 93: non-turob/turbo, AC, no AC, manual, automatic. As for 89, my 89T has the same light-green-painted springs.
One other thing: removing springs from the front of a c900 is a major PITA.
