might want to check your intercooler hose running from intercooler to turbo looking to see just how much oil is in it.
just some things that can go wrong with a new, fresh turbo unit if the proper steps are not taken,.
at the time of install the oil and filter must be changed, always replace the oil supply lines,
i have read some turbo companies require a break in period-
-give the new turbo a breaking period-, lest 100 miles of easy driving before banging one it,
but a properly assembled and balanced turbo requires no specific break-in procedure. However, for new installations a close inspection is recommended to insure proper installation and function. common problems are generally associated with leaks (oil, water, inlet or exhaust).
if the turbo unit you installed is a new/used rebuilt unit might want to look at how much shaft play there is, shaft play is caused by the bearings in the center section of the turbo wearing out over time. When a bearing is worn, shaft play, a side to side wiggling motion of the shaft occurs. this in turn causes the shaft to scrape against the inside of the turbo and often produces a high-pitched whine or whizzing noise. this is a potentially serious condition that can lead to internal damage or complete failure of the turbine wheel or the turbo itself, and may contribute to oil usage, and will show just how bad it is by looking in the intercooler hose, some oil is fine, with a new turbo unit there should be none.
if you have your old unit still try swaping them back looking to see if the problem is in the motor or if infact its the new unit.
