Furthermore, If your engine overheated it's much more likely that your aluminum head warped than it is that your block cracked and dealing with a warped head is less work and money (for a real C900 Saab mechanic). You may have popped a freeze plug (but I doubt it) and that's an easy fix. You are clearly dealing with the wrong mechanics, get to a good Saab independant shop withh C900 experts. The 2 liter 16 valve engines are the same regardless of what tranny is beneath them (except for the pickup tube as pointed out, and that takes 5 minutes to swap). Good luck.
