Hello, thanks everyone for your help so far.
I'm still having problems solving an intermittent stutter in my 92 900T. I was climbing a hill in 4th building a little boost yesterday. At the top I let off the accelerator a little, and it starts stuttering and the CEL comes on. For the next couple minutes it kept doing this, so I pulled over and looked at the plugs - all 4 were black. The codes from the computer indicate that its running rich. Put the plugs back in and reved it up, and it ran fine afterwards.
This problem happens every few hundred miles, usually when its hot out and the car has been run for a while. Between the problems, the plugs (NGK 7s) stay clean and no trouble codes pop up. I'm pretty sure this is not ignition - I've replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and coil since this started happening. The Hall sensor and ignition module are probably okay too, since the tach continues to operate while all this is going on. Also, swapping in a spare fuel pump hasn't helped. Finally, I've replace the AMM with a rebuilt one with no improvement.
I am tired of replacing parts and not fixing this. Could the turbo bypass valve cause these symptoms, including the temporary rich mixture? It has been making a little more noise lately, but holds a vacuum fine when I test it. What else could cause an intermittent rich mixture?
Stumped, Ken H
