I would wait for the OP switch as well, but use this procedure anyway. Pull the plugs out, and take off the valve cover. There is a bolt on the cam that can be backed out that is the "oiler" -- look at the Bentley and it will tell you which one to loosen. Take out the fuse for the fuel pump, disconnect the coil wire for safety sake, set the valve cover back on, and then turn over the engine. Crank it over in intervals until you see the oil coming out of the bolt -- now you have primed the valve train, and proved that oil is coming to the top of the head. Be prepared for some oil dripping with the valve cover removed, (hopefully anyway!) Tighten the cam bolt to per the procedure in Bentley's.
If no oil ever comes up through the bolt in the cam, then you have an oil prime, or perhaps oil pump problem. I used this procedure to restart my engine after being apart, and it provided peace of mind that oil was indeed making it to the top of the engine! Good luck!
