Pentosin red is VW/Audi G12. It's not the Mercedes coolant that folks refer to. There's an even newer version of G12 that is purple, but I've heard that the only difference is that bitterant is added so that animals won't drink the stuff if it is spilled. The Pentosin red is a great coolant for cars built to handle full Organic Acid Technology "OAT" coolants. However, the C900 is not built for this coolant as it has a soldered heater core, and in '89 and earlier models, a soldered radiator. I suspect that most folks have exchanged the radiator for an aluminum/plastic radiator by now, but probably most C900 cars are running around with the original heater cores. I'm not sure if an aluminum/plastic heater core is even available for the C900.
In any case, you should probably use the Pentosin blue (G11) coolant or stick with the Saab coolant still available from eEuroparts.com for less than $13/gallon, I think. For about $12/gallon, head to your local auto parts store and buy the Zerex G05, which comes in the gold bottle. I hear that this is essentially the same as the Mercedes coolant, and also somewhat similar to the original factory fill Saab blue coolant.
