It's happened twice in the past few months - the radiator cooling fan fuse popping. Both times I noticed it when the AC stopped working and I looked to see that the temp guage had climbed to near 225F. And in both instances I looked in the fuse panel to see that the fan fuse was blown. This time today I pulled over to the side of a busy street, popped the hood and replaced the fuse with the engine running. In that brief period of time that I held the fuse between my fingers to slip it in place, when the fuse came in contact with the two tabs (I have the old style fuses) the metal element became so hot it burned my fingers. I suspect I have a higher than normal resistance issue somewhere on that circuit. I have no other electric system problems. Any ideas where I can look to resolve the problem? Any methodology/proceedure for testing and diagnosing? Perhaps I just need a new fan?
