The movable part of the sunroof consists of two parts: There's an outer metal panel which is what you see on the roof, and an inner panel, which has the latches, guide clips, and has the bit of headliner material glued to it.
The outer panel is attached to the inner panel by 4 torx screws at the front and a set of clips at the back. You remove the torx screws and slide the outer panel forward to disengage the clips in back and gently bring it up through the opening. Then you'll see the the inner panel and all of the clips I described above.
