Canada,
First, remember to disconnect the ground cable at the battery. Then the process is just a matter of reaching up under the intake manifold to remove the starter motor. No need to unbolt or loosen the manifold. Remove the wiring and remove the small steel support bracket which is retained by 8 mm nuts on the rear end of the starter motor. You have to pry back the plastic flywheel shroud to hold the big bolt at the front end and that's a PIA. So it's basically just another case of cramming your hands in deep and doing some stuff by feel but have patience and you'll succeed. Price...if they were really labor intensive to swap I'd say get a new one but once you have the hang of removing and replacing these a good used one is a cost effective approach. With experience you can do them in about 30-40 minutes and they are really quite reliable. They must be good cars for Canada. They're great here and we get 16 feet of snow over the Winter and have only (snow packed) dirt roads in town. Cheers.
