TomG,
On the automatic transaxle the type F a.t.f. is filled through the (atf) dipstick tube. The final drive is filled with 10w30 or 80w gear oil through a bolt on the passenger side near the inner driver. There are two opposed oil seals within the pinion shaft housing that keep the two different lubricants apart. Many T-37 automatics are killed because people routinely check the a.t.f. but aren't aware that all of the final drive lubricant has leaked out. Cheers.
