Have them use a Saab OEM seal on the differential cover -- it is a composite material and will provide maximum sealing. Clean out the filter screen and magnet in the cover if it has those features. Have them save all the chips that may come out, or pieces of transmission parts that may come out with the drained oil. They could be important to review to render a decision on what kind of surgery may be needed! With any luck, there won't be any chunks. If the oil is really dirty, then drive it for a period of time, and bring it back in for a fresh refill. Look inside the skidplate to see if large amounts of oil have been deposited. If the input shaft seal is leaking in the primary drive, then the oil would eventually end up on top of the plate.
