Brake lights stuck ON

Ok, we're talking about a 1988 Saab TC with 35K miles, the brake lights are stuck on. Pulled the fuse to keep from running down the battery but wondered the best place to start looking. Spring is attached to brake pedal arm, can't see beyond that until I start taking it apart. Admittedly I'm one step above moron when it comes to electrical issues. Any likely suspects? Thanks for any help...
