look into amps.
lets say you want 2 speakers on your right rear channel and 2 on your left rear,
lets say you have a 6x9 that pulls 100 watts and a 4 inch that pulls 60 watts (max) on one side (right rear)
look for a amp that has 200 true watts
(when shopping for amps they will say 500 watts, 600 watts 1000 watts)
these numbers are the max the amp can push
how ever to find the true amp watts you need to read the fine print on the amp box.
take for instance with the set up we have for just the right rear
we have 160 watt that the speakers can handle.
the amp that says 500 watts will have around 200 true watts
any thing after 200 watts is distortion for that amp.
the amp will have a plug in for one right rear and be able to have two speaker outs, might have to spend a little more to get a nice amp.
again shopping for amps. the 500 will be priced around 600$ but its from a company no one has heard from and it has 200 true watts.
now look at a nice pioneer amp with on the box it says 300 watts
it to may have 200 true watts but for a price around 350$
go amp shopping now if your thinking 200 watts that's to much for the speakers and will blow them
if you had this set up the true watts would push the speakers with crystal clear sound (and loud) but yes it would blow them.
so look for a amp with one speaker in and one speaker out.
now with the same set up but instead of the 60 watt 4 inch we push it to 100 just like the 6x9 with a max of 200 watts
but for the amp it will knock it in half (4 ohms become 8 ohms with 2 speakers)
so our 200 watt true would now be 100 and the 500 max would be to 250 max
and if you were to crank up the tunes it would sound like crap just because your over the amps true watts
so your going to need to find a amp with more true watts
theres 200 max for right rear and we are not out to blow them if the stereo is cranked,
look for a amp with 350 true watts, divided by 2 it drops to 125 true watts and that's just fine for the 2 and crystal clear sound
look for a amp that has on the box watts closest to the true watts
350 true watts my be 400 all the way up to 1000 max watts (it differs in the brand name)
but remember for the 1000 watt amp if it says only 350 true watts
its a total wast of money that is if the 400 watt amp has 350 true watts
have fun when shopping for amps and get lots of laughs i know i did
( going to a car stereo shop will be allot easy-er, the help knows what amps are closest to there true watts.
