Another option is to use 1/4" flexible copper tubing spliced in between both sides using two 1/4" brass pressure couplings. The idea is to cut (best to use a small tubing cutter) the two steel tubing sides clean of the old crimp fittings, then splice in a piece of the copper tubing. I did that with my original 900 and it worked like a charm. I still have that length of tubing sitting in storage to be used as backup. The only catch is that with an all metal line going from engine to clutch MC is you hear tranny and clutch noises that much more. The rubber piece serves as a sound absorber. Also, you have no flex capability when needed for clutch work.
