damage at the alignment shop....

just finished a long list of stuff...steering rack and tie rod ends, kilen springs, new hellas up front, new alternator, radiator fan, belts, some new switches etc. etc. took it to a good local mechanic for an alignment. backing it off the lift, they had the driver's door open and caught one of the uprights, hyperextending the drivers door....bummer. bent it back into the fender kinking it right above the side marker, hinges bent, won't close right etc. they are going to repair it, but will it ever be the same?? anyone had experience with a repair like this? i never take my car ANYWHERE except for tires and alignment, just because of things like this happening...what a bummer.
TIA
