SteveD,
Sorry if this sounds silly but get down and look at the rear suspension while someone bounces that corner of the car. Very often you'll see the offending element doing it's thing. Several items can cause such a clunk and the one often overlooked (by me until recently) is that the top of the shock has punched through it's body mount due to localized rust. The shock is then ineffective but makes a rhythmic clunk when cornering as the spring bounces that corner of the car. If you don't see anything that way then pull the wheel off and look for problems with the brake caliper. Spin the wheel while it's off the ground, it may demonstrate it's problem for you under that condition. Keep in mind that it's easy and common to be mislead when attempting, from the driver's seat, to locate the corner of the car where such a problem is. If the Left rear is fine then take a look at the Right rear. Cheers
