The '88 Turbo--that is, a car with passive belts--has the same seat mounting bolt pattern as the '92 Turbo. However, the seats are not the same: the '92 seats are wider and, therefore, you must also install the narrower '92 plastic center console between the seats.
Also, the '92 buckle system is incompatible with the '88. The '92 has a square hole in the male connector, whereas the '88 passive has an "arrowhead" shape to it with no hole. You will therefore need to install the earlier female buckle **if you are using the passive belts**. If you are also switching to '92 standard belts, then no female buckle swap is necessary.
In both the '88 passive belt seats and the 92 'seats, the buckle attaches directly to the seat chassis, not the floor. Saab used a thread locker on all belt bolts; I wouldn't skip using it, personally.
