I hope the brake fluid has been flushed on a regular basis?
One problem with low mileage cars is that owners don't think about that certain fluids goes bad not only by miles but years too.
Brake fluid is one of them and my recommendations are 30K miles or every 2 years.
With 60K on the odo, it might only have been done twice in 20 years, all depending on the owners maintenance schedule.
If so, replacing the reservoir rubber seals and entering new brake fluid to the master cylinder, it might be enough to kill the seals inside master cylinder shortly.
I see it all to often on older cars so that's why I'm cautious in my recommendations.
