If both of the bulbs are ok... do other lights in the clusters work correctly?

the turn signals, backup lights, running lights?
The two areas to check are:

1) if the other lights are having an issue - check the grounds, they are in the spare tire area under the center brace that runs from front to rear.

2) if the other lights are ok - the brake light runs into the left cluster and then to the right cluster. pull the left circuit board out as to change the bulbs, and look closely at the plastic where the connector plugs in. if it is melted/deformed in an area that is the issue. usual repair is to either clean contacts or replace them, run an extra ground, and/or replace the board. eEurpoarts, a site sponsor, has had the board in the past - may still. You may also need to "harvest" the connector and wire loom with lots of wire and splice it in place. If you do make sure you get a clean one AND that it is either the same year or has the same number/color wires in the connectors. You should also consider getting the entire loom, it starts in the spare tire area, comes up and to the left light, and then all the way across to the right light. If you take the entire harness it's easier to splice it in in the spare tire area. Just make sure the connectors are clean. They are different on some years. Ask me how I know?
