Time to go (long)?

Got hit in the parking lot (1 taillight and the trunk hood bent some) without leaving a note... covered under uninsured motorist, the insurance may have to fork out $700. They haven't asked yet, but, is it worth just taking the check?
Here are the details:
1992 900S 2.1L (non-turbo), automatic, 96k miles. Relatively new (less than 5k miles) pads and rotors on all wheels, new catback exhaust, new battery, and lower temp thermostat and thermoswitch (along with some hoses). The engine runs strong, but the tranny needs to be warmed up 10min before driving, otherwise it disengages when shifting (auto) from 1st to 2nd - somebody on this site mentioned valve body and a sticking valve, but without a good Saab mechanic around I haven't ventured myself into it (local dealer doesn't flush the tranny, but just replaces the ATF). Some rust around the rear fender rim...
All in all, is served me (almost) faithfully for 4 years and I did what repair I could (paid for the rest), but without a garage and room to work on it anymore it just decays. It would pain me just to drive it into the junkyard, but realistically, what options to I have?
