I just got the 91 turbo home and it definitely has a couple bugs.
5th gear and reverse dont engage. Attempting to shift into 5th while driving causes nothing but grinding (syncro?). Reverse is non-existant except when backing down a slight hill (havent tried reversing on a flat surface yet). i can just barely feel reverse catching with extremely light throttle + holding the stick as hard in reverse as possible.
I want to try to reset the stickshift, but am right in thinking that I need a special Saab tool (# 87 91 576)? Is there any sort of homemade device I can try and construct? (coathanger?)
other than that the car drives very smooth... its much quieter than my SPG, well it is stock. the hooya I bought it off of redid the interior. (pics later) He tried dyeing the middle inserts of the grey leather seats black (front and back). it looks horrible, but it has been coming off just by sitting on the seats and squirming around. i think a mild solvent will get rid of the dye (and likely kill the leather:cry
any suggestions?
